Guadalajara, Jalisco: What we should know about this excellent place for the WMEMC 2027.

Jalisco is rich in cultural, recreational, culinary, and natural attractions. Its tourist sites offer unique experiences and feature infrastructure and natural areas suitable for all types of tourism.

Guadalajara, known as the Pearl of the West, is the capital of Jalisco and the second-largest city in Mexico. It attracts numerous visitors for its mariachi music, tequila, handicrafts, charrería (an equestrian sport), and heritage buildings dating back to the independence and colonial eras.

Jalisco’s representativeness as a symbol of Mexican identity within the country and beyond emerges from countless historical and social events that, sponsored by traditions, customs, and creations, have given identity to the people of Jalisco: Tequila, which represents the national drink; the Mariachi, which showcases the musical and artistic ingenuity of its people; and charrería, established as the national sport, are all intangible assets that help us understand the importance of the first federal entity in Mexico.

Some of Jalisco’s most representative cultural attractions include Tequila, Tlaquepaque, and Ajijic.

Tequila is adorned with visible agave plantations, which enliven the landscape recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Its main square, lined with laurel trees, features well-preserved traditional gateways.

Tlaquepaque is nationally and internationally renowned for its artisanal crafts, particularly blown glass and fired clay products. For a complete experience, visitors can enjoy traditional markets and stroll through the historic center.

Ajijic is a destination that blends colonial architecture with modernity and quality tourist services. As a Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town), Ajijic is vibrant and colorful, showcasing murals, bars, restaurants, and art galleries. It is also adjacent to Lake Chapala, the largest lake in Mexico.

Jalisco is a land of astonishing tourist attractions, like Puerto Vallarta, a municipality located on Banderas Bay. It is the largest destination in the Mexican Pacific, boasting spectacular mountain, beach, and mangrove landscapes, offering endless activities and tours.
